Bio:Coach "D" is the founder of the J-Hawks, which she started in 1991. She truly has a passion for this sport and volunteers her time on deck. Coach "D" is definitely the best coach in the state. Her 30 years of coaching include Head Coach of the Janesville YMCA, the J-Hawks, and the UW-Whitewater swim team. Coach "D" works mainly with the Senior team members. She is a true technician and believes in giving your best at all times.
*Coaching accomplishments: developing 2 Olympic Trial swimmers, US National qualifiers, Junior National qualifiers, NCAA finalist, YMCA National champion, Junior National qualifiers, NCAA qualifiers, Wisconsin State champions, WIAA State champions, and Speedo Series, Central Zone, Wisconsin State and WIAA State qualifiers.
*Swimming Career: Coach "D" started her swimming career, at the young age of 33. She not only learned to swim that year, but started competing in Masters Swimming, where she soon became a national qualifier.
*Personal: Coach "D" has 16 grandchildren and uses her spare time watching them and traveling. In the past few years, she has traveled to Ireland, France, Italy, Vegas, California, gone on 2 cruises. |
