SPA Meeting Minutes 

July 19. 2010 

 

Attendance: Gina Nelson, Yvonne and Scott Fanshaw, Nancy Schneider, Bob Alexander, Dyan Talabac, 
Amy Hackney, Teresa Lambert 

Agenda #1- June Minutes review – The minutes from June were read and approved 

Agenda #2- Treasurer’s report – Current checking account balance is $6,775.48. Current savings 
account is $4,629.52 for total of $11,405.00. Last years total at this time was $13,745.24. 

Agenda #3- Presentation by Middleton Sports and Fitness – Marisue Horton came in to talk about their 
company. Highlights from talk were, she could give roughly 35% discount off reg price for our team suit 
order once a year. She would come in to pool and do fitting for everyone and bring in other equiptment 
(goggles, fins, caps, practice suits) and give a 20% discount that night on any purchases as well as 
discount on team suit. Could also give a 15% discount year round from their swim department. They 
could do logo on suits (around extra $5) and they are done in house for quick turnaround. Also willing 
to do 20-30% discount on technical suits, depending which one you get. In return she would expect 
advertising for Middleton Sports and Fitness at our meets. (Heat Sheet Ad, banner hung at meets, and 
ad on our website) 

Agenda #4- Apparel order for Fall – Kim Krebs would like ideas for the upcoming apparel order. Ideas 
given were: Women’s shirts with v-neck and nice material, fleece zip up jackets, would like to know 
sizing information before purchasing (ex. What size is childs small? 4-6, 6-8? Etc), tank tops, winter knit 
caps. 

Agenda #5- End of year picnic – Picnic set for August 29th 1-3:30pm at Starin Park building. Everyone to 
bring a dish to pass, their own tableware and drinks. Nancy Schneider will look into getting key from 
city, in the past they have rented to us free of charge. 

Agenda #6- Concerns – Teresa Lambert spoke up that she thinks that there is too much pressure of kids 
getting “best times” at meets. That the whole focus is on what your “time” is and the focus is too great. 
Bob said to bring that issue to the coach. 

Next meeting set for Sept. 13th at 5:30pm
